Sonia Leimer’s exhibition Autoterritorium weaves a number of her key sculptures and multimedia installations together to create a complex narrative about the conquest of spaces at the cross-over point between political utopia and personal appropriation. Outer space and the Arctic are both just as equally spaces of desire in her works as the streets we walk down every day. The materials and objets trouvés Leimer works with are often enriched by traces and clues indicating socio-cultural history, while simultaneously their possible uses and activation prompt us to think and define our own history. The exhibition focuses on the temporal and performative character of Sonia Leimer’s sculptures and itself becomes a territory that is activated and transformed by the visitors.

Untitled (Flow)

The exhibition Untitled (Flow) gives a specific insight into Herbert Hinteregger’s singular approach to painting. In dialogue with the architecture of the hall at Taxispalais, the exhibition unleashes a flow of images that challenge the patterns of perception in painting, which are normally deemed incontestable. In Untitled (Flow) various levels of Hinteregger’s conceptual painting combine: the re-evaluation of an everyday product, ball pen ink, as a sensual medium, the poetry of surfaces, materials and things, together with how pictures relate to space, and the interplay between logic and intuition, as well as between reduction and abundance.
